Two traders are in the high-stakes game of High-Frequency Trading, where winning is measured in milliseconds. Striking out on their own, they secretly start construction of a perfectly straight fiber-optic cable between Kansas and New Jersey. The goal is to earn billions by making themselves one millisecond faster than other traders, including their sociopath former boss, who will stop at nothing to see them fail.
